The evening started with Gloriana opening. I had never heard of this band before, and usually when I am at a concert and I don't know one of the opening acts, I generally don't care for them much. But wow! Gloriana was awesome! Their voices blended together really well, and I really enjoyed their songs. I will definitely be looking for their cd next time I am at a music store.
Kellie Pickler performed next. I was a little disappointed that she did not sing "Best Days of Your Life" with Taylor Swift, but I enjoyed the song none-the-less. Kellie Pickler was awesome. She had a moment in one of her songs where she burst into tears, and the audience showed their support and encouragement by cheering, screaming and clapping, which she seemed extremely grateful for. I have a lot of respect for someone who is so real and "normal". I really, really enjoyed Kellie's performance, and I thought to myself, how can it get any better than this? I'd love to see Kellie in concert when she is the headliner one day.
A couple of years ago I saw Taylor Swift in concert when she opened for Brad Paisley. I thought she was awesome then, and boy was she awesome now! Not only does this girl have huge vocals, but she is a great performer. She had multiple costume changes, used many, many props, and even walked down from the stage and sang at the other end. She sang a few songs, and allowed the fans who were so far away before, to get a close up view of her. I thought to myself, "I wish that was something that more performers would do". When she walked back to the stage, she hugged dozens and dozens of fans. I think she even signed an autograph and took a picture with one lucky fan. Taylor sang her heart out for nearly 2 hours. I was so impressed with her performance. I would definitely buy tickets to see her again in the future.
At the concert with me were my sister and her boyfriend. Her boyfriend had never heard any of Gloriana, Kellie Pickler, or Taylor Swift's songs before, and he even enjoyed the concert. He was really impressed with the whole show. I think that in itself says something.
