Things that Could be Better:
With the miles of track, and the acres of space, the grandstand seating was way to cramped. In a hockey arena fine, there is only so much space. Here, it's just spending as little as possible on the minimum grandstand required. boo.
Grandstands. Who the heck numbered the rows. A is in the middle B, C, D ... goes up and double letters go down. There were no seating layouts available at time of ticket purchase, I thought I was near the top of the grandstand, turns out, row B is HALFWAY up.
Parking. How come the City of Edmonton put up extended no parking signs in Northwood?? I lived in that neighborhood for years, and had to have a NAIT parking pass for my house, but the sidestreets were always free game for students. Why not racing? Residents still would have the same amount of parking reserved for them. The neighborhood was empty.
No information about the FM transmission frequency or availability on ticketmaster or indy site prior to race. I didn't bring a radio, cause I thought there was no FM transmission.
Jumbotron. Section 20. Quit a few times. Oh, BTW the resolution is so low on those that you cannot read the scrolling names, numbers, and positions at the top of the screen. Please revamp fonts and sizes so you can read them.
Why is a paddock pass another $55. Seems like a money grab. Very poorly explained, I had to ask a couple of people what was required to get in.
The loop road bus. Big pain to get around the site, if bought a bottle of water, drank half of it, used the loop road bus, you couldn't take it back in. Loop road bus should have secure INSIDE gate access so getting on the bus kept you in the event.
More rig mats required behind turn 1. There was 6' of path in front of the grandstand that you could traverse the site that wasn't muddy.
I feel sorry for some of those campers. Surely, with all the acres of space there must have been some dry spots.
The event itself was great.
