the reason I choose this performance is for Maria Alexandrova, she's so good than I expect. I just saw her swan at Toronto several days ago, I think her Kitri is much better......

Maria Aleksandrova was exquisite in her roll as Kitri, very animated and likeable, The characters were very well cast, except maybe for Basilio, who I found to be a little thin and not well matched to Kitri.
The choreography was challenging and showcased the dancers' talents well.
I would definitely see it again.

The whole performance was great. When I read that 'first team' wasn't touring I had some concerns but these were soon dismissed as dancers,sets and costumes were excellent.

This production excels in every respect. It is colourful, entertaining and technically outstanding - what more can you ask for? I highly recommend it. We were a group that ranged in age from 11 to 80 and everyone was equally enchanted with the performance.

I loved this performance. My eyes were glued to the magnificent costumes and to the beautiful sets. I enjoyed the music so well performed by the NAC orchestra. The choreography kept me interested from beginning to end. The quality of the dancing had me mesmerized, and not just from the prima ballerinas. All of the dancers were so talented and performed beautifully. This is what I want to see when I attend a professional ballet performance.
I was a little disappointed with the choice of ballets, Don Quixote not being my favorite, but otherwise the evening was terrific. I'd love to see the Bolshoi perform again. Perhaps Swan Lake or Sleeping Beauty or The Nutcracker?

Costumes, sets and music were lush. I enjoyed how the plot was barely there- the thinnest thread to string together the pearls of dance performance.

An absolutely amazing performance! They danced so perfectly and beautifully. You were engrossed in the dancing but also the storyline; you were entranced, shocked, awed and captivated. I have never enjoyed a performance so much, and laughed off and on all the way through at the antics of Sancho.

This show is above and beyond. It is so simple, though complex, so modern, though nostalgic.
It is a must see. The music is fantastic, the choreography fabulous and the illumination will blow your mind.

The Joffrey Ballet did not disappoint. What a magnificent group of dancers! The choreography was challenging, but this troupe makes it look easy -- such fluid bodies and incredible strength. I haven't seen them in 20 years and they are just as wonderful now as they were then!

Was very disappointed.The music was not appealing at all; It had no soul.
I often listen to Tango music and it's not the funeral funeral sounds the band played on February 21. The gentleman besides me must have been as disappointed as myself because he said "it's boring" to his girlfriend who was sitting in front of him in the End seat that should be mine. Needless to say I was in a middle seat.

I liked that the dancers showed the origins of Tango . Overall I found the moves too theattrical, accrobatic even and did not do justice to that beautyfully sensual dance
I arrived and found someone else sitting in my seat. The NAC employee who escorted me (who had seen my seat# from the ticket) said customers can take any seat once in the logel when she saw that my end seat was taken. I was quite pissed off but did not want to make a scene.
I would like to know if it's common practice that someone else takes your seat and you have no say and the NAC staff does nothing about it and says something diplomatic instead.

Every minute was full of surprises. The atmosphere of the piece was edgy and sexual but never went too far. The dancers were more than athletic and powered through with a level of energy that was very exciting. There was also a sense of humour throughout the piece that I found wonderful. Who thought you could laugh so hard at a dance show? The end was like watching the climax of a fireworks display. Well done.

I am really happy that I had the opportunity to see this show. This was my first contemporary dance show and I loved every minute of it. I loved the sounds, lighting transitions, dance style, music, use of light and contrast... basically everything! It was very interesting to be apart of the whole experience. There were so many beautiful photographic opportunities. I would highly recommend this show. Five stars!!!!

Overall I found the show pleasurable, mainly due to great choreography, costumes, and scenography. However, dancers' performance was not expressive, or maybe not precise enough to be breathtaking. Maybe I formed this impression as a result of the quite overpowering music both in choice and sound. I put aside the fact that the classical pieces chosen were almost 'pop' pieces, but the arrangement was very loud to the point of placing itself first instead of being second or at least equal to the dance performance. At times the orchestra reminded of one playing at a mlitary parade which should not be the case at that show. I'd like to end with a kind request to Tadeusz Biernacki to soften the sound and not to be so noisy. An this is my rant.
