We arrived in Calgary from the United Kingdom not really knowing what to expect. We had brought our Union flag to wave as Prince William and the Duchess of Cambridge were going to be there. We were staying at the Marriott and the staff brought chairs outside for us and we saw Wills and Kate closely followed by the Parade. When some people in the Parade saw our Union flag, they shouted or mimed across to us "Thank you for coming" which blew us away! We witness amazing western hospitality/
The Stampede, the shows, the Rangeland Derby - EVERYTHING was just so wonderful and we had such a great time that we are coming back in 2012 to help you celebrate your 100th Anniversary. Thank you Calgary for your amazing hospitality.

The Grandstand Show at the Calgary Stampede is an amazing experience. We try to go every year and will continue to do so even though the 2012 event will be hard to match.
The only possible criticism is it overwhelms the viewer. It always provides no less than dance, acrobatic, solo singing artist, singing group, cultural, pyrotechnic and theatrical performances. The last couple of year's included motocross trick riders to that long list, and other years have included comedic performances.

This was our third Calgary Stampede experience and although we've enjoyed all three, the 2012 grandstand show was the best yet. Paul Brandt was awesome and the Young Canadians were spectacular....and unbelievable. Where do those kids come from? The performances were outstanding; unlike anything we've ever seen. The Grandstand Show is a MUST SEE for everyone. The chuckwagon races were very exciting too. Enjoyed the pre-show with Chanse Vigen too.... Calgary, you outdid yourselves; thank you again for a fabulous time. Looking forward to next year!!!

The Derby was awesome and loved seeing the award given to Kelly Sutherland. The Granstand show was over the top in activity. Too much to see and absorb,

The only good part about the show was Paul Brandt. I dont particulary want to watch kids dance, adults sure, but not kids.

The only criticism I would have is a technical one. We were way up in the north side of the grandstand, almost at the edge , far away from viewing the show full on. It was great to have the big screens mounted so that we could see what was happenining but most of the camera shots were taken from the side. We could already see what was going on from the side!!! It would be more beneficial for them to take front shots, so we could enjoy the show.

The anthem and the Canadian flag, flown by our armed forces was the highlight of the night. The young Canadians performance was very good, as we're all the other acts. My only concern is the amount of activity going on at the same time. You can't watch the performers on stage with fire works going on above!

Not as good as previous years. Two acts were cancelled because of a wet stage. I understand the safety implications but, considering the history of bad weather in Calgary during July, why would you book acts that are dependent upon a dry stage?

Awesome show as always, fully recommend the chucks. Too bad it was raining as some of the acts were unable to perform. They should have a backup performance plan just in case..

We attended the final day of the chuckwagon races at the Calgary Stampede and despite a bit of rain, we had a great time. Our seats were good, the visibility of the track etc. was good and it was exciting to watch. Would go again!

me and my family have been going to the Grandstand show and chuchwagon races for the last 30 years rain or shine , it is alway a great show the young canadains are very talented and the races are exting to watch.

I went to the Chucks because we had out of province visitors who had never been before.I was a little apprehensive as we had children with us and I was well aware of the risk involved. I also know the lengths that the Stampede has gone to increase safety over the years. I am so relieved that the drivers & outriders did such an exceptional job of handling because the track was sloppy due to the rain. The track grooming was kept up.
We had great seats. The Grandstand show was like nothing I had ever seen before in all my years of attending & the fireworks were spectaular. Our company flew out of Calgary this morning and they can't wait to get home to tell the stories,show the pictures and share the memorabilia they purchased with family & friends.
An Awesome Job and you are to be commended.

Nothing really new except the endless stream of performers were a bit better than last year. Same old/same old!
The derby was good as it gets for fans of. Three seats were vacated after the derby so we moved slightly closer. They obviously did not care to sit through the boring show.

The most amazing fireworks display , not to be repeated for at least another 100 years,
Final Chuckwagon race was spectacular in the rain. The experience is second to none. 100 more years of Western Heritage. Keep it alive.

The Grandstand show was great. Amazing fireworks show, great music and never a dull moment. Only complaint was that they closed the concession stand on our level before the show so we had to walk down a level to get water. This was a stupid idea on someone's part. It was a hot night and we shouldn't have had to go so far just for a bottle of water.

Wonderful experience from the chucks to the grandstand show. The fireworks at the end were the most spectacular I've EVER seen and I've seen alot. Before the show we ate in the clubhouse and SO appreciated a wonderful meal in a cool relaxing atmosphere.
