Wow. What a great time. What great people. Penticton and iRock Entertainment Inc. put on a three day festival showcasing dance, food, Okanagan Peaches, Okanagan Hospitality and all genres of music. Pop, Alternative, Soul, Funk, Rockabilly, Country Roots, Folk and good ol, Rock and Roll .
It was at Penticton's huge Kings Park. Each day headlined some fantastic artists. Friday it was Collective Soul, Saturday Canada's own Sam Roberts Band and Sunday Ronnie Dunn. Wow ! What super opening acts too. There were two stages, ( named after peaches ) Freestone was the main stage and Redhaven was the side stage.
Ronnie Dunn had an incredible night. the sound, the stage the audience was fantastic. Ronnie is famous from his Brooks and Dunn days but his music is classic. A Cowboy in a Rock and Roll band. Yeah baby. It was so well done. Thanks Ronnie Another bunch of set lists for my collection. I didn't get Ronnie's autograph but I did get a lot of artists this weekend.
For the prestigious Friday night first band the Rock The Peach put on a competition and The Malibu Knights won the Battle to 'Rock The Peach'.
What a great band out of Kelowna B.C. Devon Coyote also performed with them and together they put on an amazing show. Well done Malibu Knights !
Friday had a little bit of excitement with a sudden downpour and hail storm we were caught in with other guests. Gone as fast as it appeared. During the weekend I did miss acts due to my disability. I asked people what they had thought. Everyone was happy and had an amazing time.
The Fringe Entertainment consisting of an incredible Elvis impersonator Adam Fitzpatrick, A cool band called Kumbana that entertained between Stage acts and an artistic and mystic group of artists called Myth Maker with an ancient art of mystic storytelling and circus arts and theatre. Never a dull moment. Belly dancers, break dancers and always something to be entertained by. Great food, provided by a variety of catering wagons. From Greek to Mexican. My favorite was the Pulled Pork. Something for everyone.
This was a total success and I give iRock Entertainment full credit for a job well done. Thank-you to everyone.
