I had never been to Heritage Days in Strathmore before. This last weekend was a real treat, with the Running of the Bulls (Sunday), Rodeo and Chucks on Monday. Great family entertainment with little Mutton Busters, Wild Horse Riding, Heavy Horse Pull, Mini Horse Races and exhibits. This event was like stepping back in time and enjoying all the same players as you see at the Stampede but with much less stress.
It was a great time and I will go again next year!

Every seat is a great seat. Normally no or short lineups for food, beer, etc. If there's a lineup it goes super fast. Top rated cowboys and free parking. Be forewarned, though...if you go on an evening for the chuckwagons, leaving the parking lot at the end of the night is a nightmare. We didn't move for half an hour. Otherwise its great entertainment at a fraction of the cost of the Calgary Stampede. This is our fourth year and are planning for the fifth.

The entire experience was great starting from the ease of parking, to the ride into the grounds The grounds had more this year than last and the rodeo was great as always.
Do take a cushion... seats tend to get hard after a while

This is a great rodeo because it is so compact and there is something there for everyone. I love the rodeo, the chuckwagons, the heavy horse-pulling, the cattle show. The entertainers on the Encana Stage were wonderful and entertaining. The trade show was a little less but what was there was good. There is alot for children to see and do. I wish there were more horses on show and better food - the Lions beef on a bun is very good as are their veggies but there needs to be other healthier choices.

It was our first time to experience the famed Running with the Bulls.
It was hilarious, invigorating and just down right insane!!!
The crowd enjoyed every hair raising minute of this event!
