This was an exciting evening of original dance and music. Being in the theatre for a set of original pieces by Canadians was a treat for any arts lover in BC. The first piece by Wen Wei Wang was a joy to watch and the presence of the orchestra onstage was a glorious beginning made even more so by the interplay between the music soloists and the dancers, on particular the second one with the violin and the male duet. Later in the program the extraordinary staging of Moth captured the magic of summer evenings with the dancers moving the audience into experiencing the flight of moths who dance around summer lights.
It is the case, as has been said elsewhere, that the pieces of the program were very similar even though there were four choreographers, and that is something for the company to be careful about, but never the less, the evening was a triumph for Ballet BC

Favourite moment: The opening of Moth with the naked stage and flickering candles while the dancers flew around the lights. @
