When have you been entertained at a concert for 3 hrs.? Lucky Winnipeggers and visitors to the Peg found the wait well worth it--Axle's energy and distinctive voice belting out the favorites Sweet Child of Mine, the dynamic Live and Let Die and the show closer, Paradise City. The electric light and video show complimented the main act. The treat was Ron "Bumblefoot" Thal, Richard Fortus and DJ Ashba's solos playing to the audience and Izzy Stradlin at the piano. Not a stranger to the piano was Axle playing November Rain. Rock and Roll is timeless and ageless and Axle and GNR proved it!

My expectations heading into this concert were not very high. By the time it was over, I was completely blown away! Opening acts (including Sebastian Bach) put on a good show. Then G 'N R took the stage... 3 hours later they had finished putting on a spirited performance. I would recommend this venue and Guns 'N Roses to everyone!

This concert was probably more surprising to me than it should have been. I should have known that there was a reason Axl was in the best rock band in the world(at for a couple years anyways). But it wasn't the performance that was most surprising to me, it was his endurance. By the time the 3rd hour hit with 'Paradise City' and he was still wailing, I thought "I think I may read Rolling Stone magazine too much". All I've heard about Axl is that he can't sing anymore and how grumpy he is during performances. And I was happy to see that it was the exact opposite. From the epic 'November Rain' to the classic riffs of 'Sweet Child O Mine', it was a very satisfying concert. They played the band's famous cover tunes 'Knockin on Heaven's Door' and 'Live and Let Die', and also added AC/DC's 'Whole Lotta Rosie' during the encore. Hearing 'Patience' made up for 'Don't Cry' not being played, also 'Civil War' was missing as well. But it doesn't matter, because as soon as I heard the familiar shriek "YOU'RE IN THE JUNGLE BABY!! YOU'RE GONNA DIIIIIIEEEEEE!!!", I was captivated. He hit most of his notes, and was still hitting them 3 hours later. The only bad thing about playing for that long, is that he didn't come on until 10:30, an hour and a half after opening Sebastian Bach. Which was really the most unsurprising thing about him on this night. We barely made the LRT after the concert, it was the last one running for the night. But again, it was all worth it. Even getting only 4 hours sleep. All in all, I really should have known better.

Half of the concert was great, I do not know the other half because I had to go, as they started at 11:30, when the ticket said to 8 pm, was a lack of respect for all, I am very disappointed it was a long wait so I could not stay until the end because the last bus to take me home was at 1:30 am I did not even know what time nor ended........

Wow! If you want to see an 80's rock show, this is it! Axl sang all the ones you wanted to hear. He may have lip-synched on one or 2, but they were from Chinese Democracy, so who cares. Great stage show with lots of costume changes, fireworks etc. Axl left the stage at every opportunity (probably for some heroin or a little jolt from a defibrillator) like during a guitar solo, but it didn't really detract from the show. His voice was still on. I just loved the show! I would recommend it to anyone, even if you're not a big fan, there's enough hits to keep you excited.

I wish someone would have told me that Guns and Roses are famous for wasting everyones time!! Being an hour and a half from out of town I had to take the train to attend the concert! And having to take the train home, I only didn't get to even see them play! To have to wait for almost 2 hours to see them was completely unacceptable! I don't care who you are and how many fans you have - I think you owe it to your fans - if they pay to come and see you,to be on time!! Completely disappointed in this concert.

GNR - oh wow - could have been the second best show I've seen in my life - but, why, why, why do these great bands continue to play at a hockey rink? I realize the bottom line is $$$ but if I were a big star I would want my fans to get the best bang for their buck & that's not going to happen at Evraz.

I would've rated the G&R concert on Thursday, January 28th in Toronto, ON as a great concert.
BUT
After 1.5 hours of listening to two warm-up bands, we had to wait for another 2 hours for G&R to show up. The singer said he was too hang-overed from the previous night.
No other bands treat their fans with such disrespect. Rolling Stones, Aerosmith, Ozzy, they all started on time!
Great music, great visuals, great singer - but by that time, I was too tired and sleepy to care. We left before the end of the concert.
Very disappointing! G&R - never again!
P.S. ACC - there was only one line for a female pat-down search at the main entrance compared to five lines for a male pat-down. There was need for at least 2 more lines for ladies.

To ask an audience to wait for a performer for 2 1/2 hours is crap. We all know these people take themselves way to seriously but for aging players to think they can pull this kind of act and ever get repeat interest is naive. G&R RIP.

Excesive waiting, the doors opened at 7:00 pm and Axel Roses appeard at 11:30 pm. Don't get me wrong, he still have it but, I've never experience this "sit and do nothing" for 3 1/2 hours waiting for somebody.
Another donwside to the show was the amount of drunk people vomiting, stumbling and even fighting, unreal .... kids shouldn't be allow in that kind of shows. I'm sorry but, ACC should control a bit more how many beers can a responsible guy take before they start doing stupid things. ACC looked like a big Trailer Park at 7:00 pm (any giving day) ewwwwww!!
Never again!!

Sebastian Bach was a very impressive opener. Enough so that I bought a Skid Row album the day after the concert.
The wait for Guns N' Roses to take the stage was overly long (as expected), but once they took the stage, they put on an incredible show. The band members all had a great chemistry going and played off of each other really well. Axl also managed to keep his voice up perfectly for the whole show, which was really impressive considering his singing style. He also seemed to be genuinely loving what he was doing, and was very conversational with the crowd. The pyrotechnics were incredible.

Axel still has it - overall it was an entertaining evening. My only critism was the late start time. The opening act wrapped up after 9pm and GnR didn't come on stage till almost midnight. The show wrapped up at 2:30am - I don't know about you but for those of us that work for a living that is a late night. So plan ahead and take the next day off - this seems to be pretty common for GnR to start late. One last comment - their old stuff is way better than the new album.

Axl sounded great. GnR played for about ~2hr and they played about an hour of their old stuff.
So for 1 hour of their old stuff strating anywhere from 11pm to 3am (a friend told me that this happened to him in 2006 in Hungary) for an expensive ticket...~100. Ask yourself. Is it worth it. The opening act stops at 9.30pm so ask yourself if you want to be waiting that long...
Sebastian Bach sounded awesome as well...
