The music was fabulous and Gary Numan has such excellent stage presence, so it was a visual treat too. I appreciated that the show was generous in duration and the encore too. I hope he comes back to Toronto soon.

What a treat hearing classics like Conversation, Complex and Films along with, well the entire Pleasure Principle album....fantastic. Cudos to Gary for performing them as they were recorded 30 years ago, with those Virus TI's reproducing the Moog synthesizers of old perfectly. Great stage lighting and visuals this time round. Listening to the new stuff and comparing it to the older, what a contrast....but still very cool. What a prolific artist that just keeps impressing. This guy is 50+ and still kicking it like few artists today can even dream to. Can't wait for his new album...

I've seen a lot of shows and I'm a total New Wave junkie so I had to see this 30th anniversery tour since the release of "The Pleasure Principal". Gary ripped through that album performing every song in sequence with total conviction to the original sound but that was only the 1st half of the show. Metal is one of the greatest songs ever and the crowd was instantly his by this 3rd song of the set. Then to most people's surprise (not mine though since I've been keeping up with his new stuff) the music got harder and louder as he performed his new material. Although this was most people's fist time hearing it, the reaction was very strong and I heard many people say how amazing it all was. he also did other classics like Cars of course, Down In The Park and Are Friends Electric. The Opera House was packed and rocking they way it always should be. Gary Numan has the most amazing stage presence and he has only gotten better with time. He seemed to love the crowd as much as we were all just completely mesmarized. Much to my delightfull surprise, Nash The Slash warmed us up and what a perfect choice. Concerts are dicey to me but this evening was sublime.

It was a great show and well worth going to if you're a Numan fan. He played the entire Pleasure Principal as well as a couple of classics and very good new material. His energy was amazing and his voice was superb. the tech crew could have mixed the sound better---and brought Gary's vocals out more...that's my only criticism.

When Mr.Numan opened his show with "Airlane" on this memorable Sunday evening I was a little bit worried as I had just read of the cancellation of his Atlanta show due to a complete loss of voice.And of course Airlane,from The Pleasure Principle,is a instrumental so naturally I thought his voice was again suffering.I was incorrect in my assuption.On this night Mr.Numan did a nice cross-section of newer and older tunes including: Are 'Friends' Electric,Sacrifice (my favorite of the night),Down In The Park, M.E. and of course the crowd pleaser Cars, to name only a few of this wonderful evening's set. This tour is the celebration of the 30th anniversary of the album "The Pleasure Principle" and seeing how Gary is not a nostalgic kind of bloke it was great to hear this album in its entirity.In closing I would like to thank Gary Numan and Nash The Slash for this very memorable evening as well as Noel (the promoter) for bringing these two old friends together for one out-standing show.And I hope Gary will come back soon!!

It has been 30 years since I saw Gary Numan at the Danforth Music Hall and I would say he is still on his game. This year is a continuation of his Pleasure Principle 30th Anniversary Tour which was his most successful album released. I was delighted to see Nash the Slash open the show. Nash opened for Gary 30 years ago as well and they have remained friends and collaborated ever since. Nash played Phasors on Stun which is the first time I have heard him play any FM material solo. Nash also joined Gary on stage for a song later on.
Gary played the Pleasure Principle album followed by many of his synth driven era material such as I die You die, Down in the Park and Are friends Electric?. He played a good cross selection of his catalogue including his industrial style music. Although the show may have seemed subdued at the beginning it reflected the mood of his early work and it progressed just as his music has. The show was approximately 1 hour and 45 minutes which was well over the 75 minutes I expected. It finished with very high energy and I got the feeling he seems to be enjoying himself. The sound mix was excellent, great use of minimalistic lighting, all in all an intimate setting with a big production feel which was most likely felt by all who were present. If you are a fan, young or old this is definitely a great way to spend a night out with your kids, like I did.

numan really rocked the opera house in toronto. at least for half the show. the first half of the show was strictly the pleasure principle material (makes sense seeing as this in the 30th anniversary tour) and that was all well and good. however, once gary and the boys finished with 'cars' and put away the front two keyboards things really started to cook!!! the whole energy of the show changed. gary and his awesome band were amazing. lots of energy, great songs, great performances!!!! i was looking forward to this show as i have become a real fan of his newer music but this was better than i expected!!! can't wait til he (they) come back!!!
