This was one of the best concerts I have ever been to. They were absolutely fantastic. I was sorry I didn't have tickets for both nights that they played.

Steely Dan, Massey Hall a perfect combination of musical and sound excellence. The excitement of incredible song composition performed by some of the best musicians in the biz was almost too much to take sitting only 3 rows out in the centre.
Even Walter Becker stated that they believe this is the best sounding band yet.
Thanks for bring us live shows. I can rest in peace now.

It doesn't get much better than this. Awesome musicianship, great arrangements, flawless changes, and the perfect venue. Steely Dan continues to amaze with their countless array of unbelieveable lyrics, instrumentals, and vocals. The songs rarely sound the same and and each one is built with incredible harmonic precision. The audience fed off the mood set by the band as they seemed to enjoy the show as much as the paying customers. This is the only band I would any price to see live.

What a couple of pros these guys are. The music was outstanding. The band was outstanding. Best of all they were having a blast, that really makes a show. When the artists are still having fun playing, you know it's from the heart and it showed.

Steely Dan is like a bird in flight that just can't quit you. The "Royal Scam" show in Toronto on November 26, '09 was the best of the half dozen concerts I have seen them perform over the years. Jon Herington's guitar playing is exceptional at anytime but on this evening it was joyous to hear. The crowd at Massey Hall were as appreciative of the band's efforts as the band was of the crowd's response to it. The Dan played like a seasoned, well groomed band who had honed their craft to the edge of perfection and were about to set their instruments down for a while and were giving everything to the swan song moment.

After 40 years of being a Dan fan, I finally saw them live!!! It was an unforgettable experience! I took my 19 year old son, who is a big classic rock fan, and I think he enjoyed the show as much as I did. The musicians were so talented and Don and Walter were on their game. Everything about the show was professional from the incredible lighting to the amazing sound.
A great evening!

I was a little worried that time may have taken it's toll on one of my favourite bands, but there was no sign of that . Steely Dan showed us all that time stands still for the great musicians of the world. Playing Aja ( one of my favorite albums) in it's entirety was genius. And then following up with some of their most popular hits for the second half was just the icing on the cake. The back-up vocalists and musicians were amazing, all in all a fantastic show and a pleasure to be a part of.

Exceptional value as they played just over 2 hours. The Royal Scam is a bit of an obscure album to some but was performed perfectly. The sound was incredibly full & clean.
The band was tight but lacked some original feel in the lead guitar area. It's a shame Walter Becker only plays rhythym now, ( age or arthritis perhaps) as most of the leads not done by him were not done as they were wriiten, either through lack of skill or too much of the "I'm going to make this my own" syndrome. That being said, it was a very good show.
When the old standards shot out into the crowd, they were greeted with several standing ovations and dancers in the aisles. Donald Fagan, at age 61, can still hit the notes & controlled the crowd with his usual conductive style and melodic tones. For me & my 9 year old son's first SD concert; we went home very happy.

I have seen Steely Dan six times and I have to say the AJA show at Massey Hall was the best concert I have ever been too. Fagan and Becker and the rest of the band was outstanding, I could have listened to them play all night, I wish they would have ended with FM but still a great great concert!!

Outstanding performance by STEELY DAN last night at the Massey Hall, it's probably needless to say that this group aged like fine wine. They opened with "Kid Charlemagne" and ended up with "Reeling in the Years". I was blown away when they played "My Old School", I never realized it would sound a lot better "live", it ...was like all cylinders fired on that song. Thanks for the goodnight Mr. Donald Fagan and Walter Becker, you guys made the sellout crowd worth their while, two thumbs up.

Went to see Aja the night before and sawy Royal Scam last night. Enjoyed the Royal Scam much more than Aja. Aja was too laid back for the venue. The audience was much more engaged with the Royal Scam.

The finest music/theatre venue in our fair city played host to arguably the most talented Rock band in recent history. And it was awesome !
Walter Becker & Donald Fagan, the core of Steely Dan for decades, brought with them some of the most talented singers and musicians I have ever heard. Together they wove a tapestry of musical eloquence, and it was most appreciated by a full house that was not shy to show their emotions.
They played the Royal Scam in its entirety and then they played assorted selections from their illustrious catalogue of finely crafted musical gems. Each one more amazingly executed than the previous.
This was a night of music that I will not soon forget, in fact I am sure that it will remain as one of the best concerts I have ever had the good fortune to be present for.

It should come as no surprise to any serious Dan fan that the "Show Biz Kids" are performing better than ever! What is surprising was the obvious joy, especially Fagan's, shown while delivering yet another stellar live performance. Massey Hall, of course, is perhaps the perfect venue to witness the many subtle nuances that all the Dan's considerable catalogue abounds with.
Well done gentleman! Please come back to offer us another of these rare treats....your finely crafted tunes played to perfection over those always impeccably tastey grooves.....my "cup runneth over"!
Thanks much.
J.L.
