Last Friday's appearance of Steve Vai at the Commodore was nothing short of amazing. His band including regulars Dave Weiner(lead and rhythm guitars)and Jeremy Colson(Drums)were at the top of their game as usual. Can't remember the bassist's name but he was definitely in the pocket all night. Plus Deborah(again not sure of her last name)on electric harp was a pleasant surprise(that is when you could hear her-she was drowned out mostly by Steve and Dave's guitars). Overall the band was in perfect sync throughout the 2 and 3/4 hour show. Biggest highlight of the night was during "The Ultra Zone" where Steve comes out in a space superhero outfit with flashing lights and lasers on his fingers plus a weird but cool looking futuristic guitar. Vai is still truly one of the best rock guitarists around and I would highly recommend seeing him!

Opening act(s): Beverly Mcclelend had a short openning act but that was enough to show case her masive tallent. The has an amazing voice. I listened to her on the internet and was impressed but hearing her live was even more impressive. Bonus she is also good on the guitar and keyborad. @

I saw steve back in 2007. His show was amazing then and he has lost absolutly nothing. One of the most creative entertainers out there dripping with tallent and surrounded by a very talented band. He never disappoints. Van Halen and Axle Rose can learn from him!!!

My fourth time watching him and it was still amazing. Good varied setlist from across his many albums, luckily I had great seats in the 8th row aisle.
Band was great too, Dave Weiner as always is a steady rhythm player, Philip Bynoe and Jeremy Colson were great together. Harp player was decent too.

Steve Vai was great as expected. It was the venue that put it over the top for me. Everything was great there. The acoustics were perfect, the security was friendly but firm. It was nice to go to a concert and to be treated properly instead of like a criminal; like you are treated to if you go to ACC !

Steve Vai put on an incredible show, I was truly amazed.
Good interaction with the audience, very tight band.
Meet and greet was great, Steve participated in a Q&A session & signed items.
Steve has an amazingly positive attitude, and is very personable in the meet & greet - he doesn't have a "rock star" ego.

Those with a meet & greet were also included in the soundcheck.

I will go back to see him again any time he plays within 150 miles of my location, would also do the meet & greet again as well.
I wasn't able to get the meet & greet package when the tickets went onsale, I upgraded later when I found a seat was still available.

Long time fan, and this was my first Steve Vai concert. Tremendous player and showman....Great with the crowd, and willing to give up the stage to his backup team of players.... great show at a great venue... sounded amazing

This concert was no doubt the best mind blowing one I have ever seen and I have seen a lot of concerts and shows.

Absolutely incredible performance by Steve Vai. I was able to go to his meet and greet, and believe me, he is very eloquent and ready to answer all questions....from anyone, about anything! From Zappa to practising scales to album artwork to the Berkeley School of Music . He has a fascinating personality and does not look down upon you nor make you feel stupid as per the question you ask. The EVO ticket experience was flawed, but that is something I should take up those in charge of Steve Vai's EVO experience!

Amazing! For the ones expecting only a highly technique guitar player, Vai showed he has much more to offer. The concert was 2.5h long, funny, interactive, great from the beginning to the end!
