This was my 2nd time coming from Red Deer to watch a Calgary Flames home game hoping that they would at least defeat LA who came in with a poorer or similar record than the Flames. Still, no luck! Flames don't know how to put the puck on net and accurately too. Wideman has a good name, because all of his shots were just that, "wide"! Even Iginla got in there and nothing!
But, the shot clock sure told that LA was the greater offensive team that night. MacDonald in net? Come on, he couldn't even stop the shot that took an LA forward at least 3 seconds to make (which is lots of time in this game)! Snipers everywhere. But, the Stanley Cup defending champions showed themselves in this game and in Edmonton, controlling both AB teams to two 3-1 victories. LA even had their backup in net.
This is 0 for 2 now for me. I was hoping for better, but with Backlund, Baertschi, and Kipper both on injured reserve, you can't expect much more than what we got Wednesday night against LA, and the Av's game on Jan 31. In fact, it was this very game (Av's one), where Kipper was hit TWICE before the ref called an interference penalty. This would've done it to result in his chronic injury! No suspension for that? So, why Taylor Hall for 2 games, and not the hit that put Kipper out for maybe the season? Inconsistent officiating once again, and this is whats controlling who gets to the Cup at the end.
